Nicaragua, Presentation and Photo Exhibit of Shorebirds and Forest Birds of Nicaragua: On October 20th, organized by Grupo Quetzalli, a public lecture will be held, ending with a touring photo exhibit with an emphasis on migratory shorebirds. Additionally, workshops and participatory bird counts will be held.
Honduras, Salt and Shorebirds Walk: On October 8th, the Santa Alejandra salt farm will be holding a bird watching walk open to the public to raise awareness about the importance of this productive system for shorebirds.
Mexico, Culiacán Migratory Bird Festival: From October 28-30, the First Festival of Migratory Birds of Culiacán will be organized by the Urban Bird Program - Mazatlán, Birdwatching Mazatlán, Vertebrate Consultants, and the Culiacán Botanical Garden. Juanita Fonseca, Shrimp and Shorebird Specialist from the WHSRN Executive Office, will give a lecture on shorebirds and shrimp farms.
Argentina, Shorebird Camp at Laguna del Plata in Mar Chiquita: On October 9-10, Experiencia Ambientalia will be dedicating an entire day to shorebirds, with games and activities they will reflect on light pollution and protecting shorebirds during migration.
Panamá, Aulas Verdes Bird Festival: Throughout the month of October, Panama Audubon Society will be developing the Bird Festival where 25 schools of the Aulas Verdes will be participating.
