En mayo de 2017, la bah\u00eda de Willapa y la pen\u00ednsula de Long Beach fueron designadas como nonag\u00e9simo s\u00e9ptimo sitio de WHSRN, con lo cual se integraron a muchos otros sitios sobre la costa del Pac\u00edfico de Am\u00e9rica del Norte identificados como h\u00e1bitats de vital importancia para las aves playeras. Las actividades de divulgaci\u00f3n para la conservaci\u00f3n de las aves playeras llevadas a cabo entre las comunidades aleda\u00f1as incluyeron sesiones educativas en aulas y un proyecto juvenil de creaci\u00f3n de letreros, en el marco del cual se instalaron en playas y otros lugares p\u00fablicos se\u00f1alizaciones en favor de la conservaci\u00f3n de las aves playeras elaboradas por j\u00f3venes, con el prop\u00f3sito de recordar a los visitantes no molestar a las aves que se encuentren aliment\u00e1ndose o en reposo.[\/vc_column_text][mk_fancy_title tag_name=&#8221;h4&#8243;
